I consider myself a Creative with Cause; the digital videos and installations that I predominantly make are influenced by my lifestyle as a vegan in an animal-consuming society.

Art is playing a more experimental role, a way of knowledge-sharing what I am learning through my intensive, emotionally demanding research. I tend to take on the form of Nonhuman Animals and use found sound from various pop culture/media sources such as television, advertisements, and powerful people to story-tell; providing a new narrative. Often the work is satirical or has elements of humour to connect with an audience who may otherwise become defensive. It is in no way intended to protect them or make light of a serious topic.

 

Activism and academia have become extensions of my creative practice and allowed me to be actively involved, beyond the studio, in a cause I care so deeply about.

I hope that one day my work will no longer be relevant but will instead serve as a shocking reminder of the culture that once existed.
